Dark, deep and rich shades scream autumn to me. So, naturally the first shade I picked out is OPI 'Skating On Thin Iceland' (£6.95) which couldn't be anything other than the perfect purple. Not only have I fallen for it because it matches my bedding but, as with all OPI polishes, it's creamy formula is easy to apply and long-lasting. I'm currently at chip-free day 5 and counting.
My second and third options work well on their own but as a combination, they're a pretty perfect duo. OPI 'Incognito In Sausalito' (£6.95) is an almost-black navy shade. So opaque it's a one sweep wonder, the vampy hue is fast-becoming my go-to colour of the season. OPI 'Snow Globetrotter' (£6.95) is the latest party polish in my collection. I don't know about you but I live for glitter nails, especially in the run up to Christmas. You can effortlessly give any polish a face-lift with this white, silver and pearlescent polish.
Five Steps To Soft Feet post, it'll come as no surprise that cuticles are my nail-nemesis. Tools fight my corner when it comes to combat my cuticles and they're an essential in my manicure routine. The Edge Cuticle Pusher (£2.95) is a double ended metal tool which tidies unruly cuticles. Another welcome addition to the fight-back family is the Elegant Touch Professional Cuticle Nipper (£10.95). They're sturdy, sharp and 'do what they say on the tin'. They're an essential in everyone's nail care collection.
With nail care in mind, maintaining your nails underneath the polish is made easy with Elegant Touch Nail Apothecary ToughFlex Base Coat (£3.95). Not only does the base coat act as an adhesive, priming the nails for polish so you get even more wear-time from your manicure, it also strengthens them. Enriched with triple complex keratin, it toughens weak and brittle nails. And if you're going red this party season, it'll prevent them from staining too.
