What I've Been Watching, Reading and Listening To Lately

So I thought I'd share what my eyes and ears have been up to lately because why not? There is literally nothing I love more at the moment than being in my fave Minnie Mouse jammies, a Spring candle alight, with a frothy coffee in one hand and a good book in the other...

The book that everyone's been talking about 'Get Your Sh*t Together' by Sarah Knight is now up there with running water and electricity in my life. (Big up Peter Kay). It's like an anti-self-help bible to organise your life by, that focuses on prioritising things you actually want to do over the every day shit you have to do. It's witty, forward and pretty enlightening. It ignites that something inside of you that makes you want to reach for the stars. As soon as I finished reading it, I wanted to pick it up again, and I don't think it will be long before I do. I feel like it's one of those books you can take something different from with every read. @ Sarah Knight, please write more.

'Reasons To Stay Alive' by Matt Haig is another book I've v much enjoyed reading recently. It's honest, relatable, and inspiring. So that's one to pop on your poolside reading list. One I've picked up but haven't reached for yet is 'You Were Not Born To Suffer' by Blake D Bauer - I dunno if it's just me but I can't start a new book until I've finished the one I'm already reading, even if it's a bit shit, because it just feels like cheating. Life's too short to read shit books BUT IT FEELS SO WRONG. (Oh and why is reading so expensive? Ya girl's gotta get herself a library card).

Can we take a moment to talk about podcasts because I bloody love a podcast. The one I'm currently bingeing is Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown, a comedy panel podcast that is honestly just hilarious. I've literally been listening to it at any given opportunity because there's six series to catch up and it's just my jam. Although I still make time for my all time fave No Such Thing As A Fish for a weekly dose of weird, wonderful and ngl, sometimes wank based facts. Listen for the knowledge, stay for the lols. But there's a new podcast on the block. The True Geordie Podcast has been kicking up a little storm over on YouTube lately with it's pretty damn banging guest list (including big YouTubers, a cosmetic surgeon spilling the tea, and a guy who spent 20+ years, wrongly convicted, on death row, to name a few). Each episode is different from the last but it's always super interesting.

To be honest, I've been all about that YouTube life lately. Netflix can take a seat. You can't beat a good old unsolved mystery video to make your 25 year old ass afraid of the dark on a night, or a crazy conspiracy theory to creep you out. Kendall Rae is my go-to for them kinda feels. There's a tonne of channels that I love to watch on YouTube but two of my favourites at the minute are; total dreamboat and ultimate sass-master Hannah Gale, and Style Like U, a channel dedicated to breaking down body image barriers and empowering people to accept and express their true selves - basically doing the Lord's work.

Have you got any book or podcast recommendations for me? I'd love to check out some of your faves.
